The Department of Political Science, Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya organised a Historical Tour to Sivasagar on 20 December 2025 as an educational and experiential learning initiative for the students. The tour provided students with an opportunity to explore the rich historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of Sivasagar, an important historical centre of Assam. Through visits to significant historical sites, the students gained a better understanding of the Ahom Kingdom, its administration, culture, and enduring contributions to the history of Assam. The tour was an enriching academic experience that enabled students to connect their classroom learning with historical landmarks and real-life observations. It also encouraged appreciation of Assam’s heritage and promoted a deeper interest in the study of history, polity, and society.
